Billing Brook School

Prevent Duty

At Billing Brook School, we prioritize the safety and welfare of our students. We actively support the Prevent strategy to protect them from radicalisation and extremism.

PSHE Curriculum Our PSHE curriculum equips students with the skills to lead confident, healthy, and responsible lives. We promote resilience, respect, and critical thinking, fostering mutual respect and tolerance. Our school value of 'Belong' reflects our commitment to ensuring that all students develop their own sense of identity.

Religious Education Our RE curriculum encourages understanding and respect for different religions and beliefs. We provide a safe space for students to explore their spirituality and cultural heritage, building a cohesive and inclusive community, as well as developing awareness for others through religious visits and celebrations.

Spiritual and Cultural Development We nurture students' spiritual and cultural growth through assemblies, cultural events, and visits. This holistic approach supports their well-being and personal development.

British Values We promote British values such as democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect and tolerance. These values are embedded in our curriculum, helping students develop a strong sense of identity and belonging. School council and Digital leaders are just a couple of the ways our students are supported in having a voice in different roles.

Partnerships for Safeguarding We work closely with local Prevent partnerships, the Local Authority, Police, and safeguarding networks to ensure comprehensive student safety. Parent support is available through information sheets and links. Mrs. Cordery is our school Prevent Duty lead.

Report a Concern If you have a Prevent safety concern, you can report it directly to the school for support and advice. Contact us directly to discuss.
